The Origin and Lineage of Our
Music
A universal approach.
After three decades of working with various spiritual
technologies, I have come across thousands of prayers, meditations
and methods of talking to God. While all prayers are beneficial,
some are extremely helpful. And then there are prayers so infused
with power, they can cause the forces of the Universe to come to
the assistance of the person who works with them. A few of those
prayers which I've found to be most potent, effective and useful
in both my own life and in the lives of those I have served in my
more than three decades as a spiritual teacher, have been recorded
as part of our "Healing Beyond Medicine" series. The recordings
are meant to be spiritual working tools. They assist the
listener/chanter to access the power of these mantras - as the
proper pronunciation, tone and rhythm of these words of power can
have an enormous impact on their effectiveness.
In everything God works for good with those who cooperate with
Him. If you feel completely stuck, raise your vibration by
practicing forgiveness of self and others, gratefulness, adopting
a constructive mental attitude and positive speech patterns. It is
vital not to think or speak evil of the absent. Above all, the
fastest way to change a challenging situation is to begin praying,
and chanting is the most advanced form of prayer. Prayer or the
chanting of prayer is a gift from heaven and a grace which is
given to us by God. It is the great mystery, and to those who
understand the use of the solar principle, prayer can enable them
to receive the highest influences in action on the divine level.
I have seen thousands of people under my guidance experience the
wonders of chanting prayers in their lives. I can honestly attest
to its transformational effects. I extensively use chanting in my
life and work. Most people do not understand the power behind it;
they actually think it is weird to chant until they have a
firsthand experience. Chanting is completely different from
singing. It is not only an expression of divine truth, but it also
goes far beyond the literal meaning of the words. We exercise for
the physical body, we breathe for the mind, and we chant for the
soul.
Through listening or chanting mantras, you can move from darkness
to light, from negativity to positivity, from duality to divinity.
Mantra is a love that flows, a divine shield that protects us like
a link between you and the Divine. By repetition of sound, you
empower yourself to go beyond the ordinary and step into your
Spirit. It takes time, dedication, knowledge, and great skill to
create sacred music that has an impact on the soul. All our music
is especially created to bring their listener a host of benefits
and blessings. It is created in accord with the natural and
healing laws of the universe.
The mantras and sacred words of power recorded on our sacred music
originate from the Judeo Christian lineage of the Holy Kabbalah
and the various spiritual traditions of the East. The word Naam
translates from Sanskrit to mean the ‘Word’ or ‘Name’. Naam Yoga
regards the word and vibration as the most powerful force in the
Universe and thus regards the practice of uttering words or sounds
of power as the most important modality of yoga. Most of the
mantras used in Naam Yoga come from Gurumuki (an Indian derived
language,) Latin, Hebrew and English. Some of the mantras are
derived from Sanskrit and Suffism. Below is a short description of
the origin and lineage of a few of these prayers to provide a
general understanding and appreciation of the universal nature of
our music.
Eck Ong Kar is a Gurumukhi mantra found on the Seal of Higher
Destiny CD. It is derived from the holy writings of the “Siri Guru
Granth Sahib”. The mantras Ra Ma Raam Raam from the
Mystic Light CD and the mantra Ra Ma Da Sa Sa Say So Hung from the
Ra Ma Da Sa and Healing Spirit of Ra Ma Da Sa CDs are both
powerful examples of mantras from the Sikh tradition. It is speculated by many spiritual scholars
that Ra Ma Da Sa was once used during the times of Ancient Egypt
and Atlantis.
Lumen de Lumine, a Latin mantra, is a part recovered from
the original Nicene Creed from Constantinople over 600 years ago
by Rose+Croix Kabbalists. The Rose+Croix developed the 12 Seed
Sounds, a recording of which can be found on the Healing Fire CD.
These sounds are pure Kabbalah and their vibrations are innately
understood by the body. The 12 Seed Sounds are a mystical panacea
that quickly works to restore health on every level. I Am, I Am
originates from the Bible in the book of Exodus 3:13-15. It can be
found on the Sounds of the Ether CD.
The Kabbalah for Healing CD contains mantras from the Hebrew
tradition. The Shema is derived from Deuteronomy 6:4-9 and is one
of the most sacred Hebrew prayers. El Na Re Fa Na La is a heart
touching and powerful prayer for healing. One of the shortest
prayers of the Bible, it is found in the book of Numbers 12:13.
We believe that it is the birthright of everyone to experience all
the many benefits and blessings associated with these once highly
secret words of power. They are through refined music and soul
melody being made available for the full benefit of the general
public. A consistent listening or chanting practice becomes
impressive enough to permeate the subconscious, which in turn
automatically influences the conscious mind. Then, it becomes
one's deep intuitional conviction.
May the luminous beings from Heaven surround, bless and protect
you always. May you ever dwell in the Divine Light, so be it.
Joseph Michael Levry or Gurunam, as he is affectionately called
by his students, has traveled extensively throughout the world for
his entire life, studying spirituality and communing with
spiritual teachers. Some of these individuals are spoken about in
his books and others have long traditions of anonymity. This is a
common trait and is part of the custom that Levry himself honors
when he declines the display of his picture in any of his
published works. This is in an effort to deemphasize his role as a
teacher and underscores the importance of the teachings
themselves. Gurunam places a strong emphasis on the fundamental
oneness of all religions and the divine spiritual wisdom that
comes from the same ultimate Heavenly source. His work transcends
the theology that separates humans from the Divine, from each
other and themselves.
